As Trademark Attorney at Ports Group, Therese handles our clients’ trademark related tasks. This includes everything from applying and registering, to monitoring and protecting trademarks. Domain names are strongly associated with trademarks, that is why we also handle domain name disputes. Apart from this we also handle design registrations, i.e. protecting the design of a product, something that Therese holds just as important as trademark registrations. These are tightly connected in a company’s valuable – but often neglected – IP portfolio.
Therese has a Law degree and Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Stockholm University. She has also studied Master of Laws at the University of Illinois College of Law in Chicago. After finishing her studies, Therese worked with digital marketing in London.
Therese joined Ports Group in the spring of 2016 and finds the best parts of working here to be our line of business and that we help our clients handle their most valuable assets. That task fills you with a sense of importance. These assets need to be protected, our view on this is that you need a strategy that is proactive in order to minimize the risk of getting into unnecessarily long and costly processes, and if worst comes to worst, loosing the assets that you as a company has built. Ports Group is unique in that we have all of the resources in-house, from an IT-department, to strategic consultants and trademark attorneys that handle everything from applications and registrations to monitoring and protecting domain names, as well as other digital services such as for example Email Compromise Protection. All in order to help our clients manage their digital and intellectual property assets as easy, efficient and care-free as possible.
The most fun part of Therese’s job is the formulation of IP-strategies, i.e. how companies should plan their portfolio in terms of protection and monitoring of designs, trademarks and domain names.
