Ports Group – English / Blog / 2017 in retrospect and what lies ahead in 2018 – A word from our CEO

Dear client,

In these (hopefully) calm days between Christmas and New Year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for this year. Thank you! ❤︎

For us at Ports Group, 2017 has been an exciting year, to say the least. We started the year in the light of a fresh merger of the companies in the House of Ports company group, and a rebranding of the merged company to Ports Group. This was not without its challenges, but also very exciting opportunities for us to become an even better strategic partner for the development of our clients’ businesses.

During 2017, we have been focusing on sharpening Ports Group’s offer and ensuring the quality of our delivery to you, the client. We have also initiated a marketing venture that aims to shine a light on many of the challenges that our clients face. For example, the recent year’s massive increase in email frauds. In order to face this threat, we have during 2017 developed a service for protecting one’s organisation against email frauds and addressed the problem in many different channels, such as our sponsoring of Dagens Industri’s podcast DI Digital.

During the years, our extensive business has led to questions such as ”What is it that you actually do for your clients?”. Personally, when I want to know the difference a company does for its clients, I immediately review their client case studies (if there are any). A client case study says so much more about a provider than a product sheet of sales presentation can ever do. Consequently, we have for the past year also been focusing on shining a light on some of the many successful partnerships we enjoy with our clients. Some of the added client case studies are Mr Green, City of Stockholm, Synsam and the recently added Folksam case.

2017 was also the year we opened the doors to our new office in Malmö, and recruited almost 20 people to the organisation. 2018 will continue on that same track, just in a higher gear. Apart from developing our core business, safe and policy-based management of domain names and trademarks, we will continue to inform about the risks of failing in one’s cyber security. However, we will also during early 2018 be launching a service for identifying and blocking potential counterfeiting of our clients’ products. This is something that we at Ports Group are very passionate about. Not just because there is an evident need from our clients for an integrated solution for this, but because counterfeiting is an industry with well-documented terrible consequences. We would like to urge everyone to view this short lecture on the topic:

We will of course get back to you with more information as we get closer to launch.

Finally, this year we have decided to donate to the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, on behalf of our employees and clients.

See you all in the New Year!

Happy Holidays!
