Yesterday, on the 7th of December, Ports Group’s Stockholm office had invited our customers to an after work. The event took place at Haymarket by Scandic where our guests were offered a glass of bubbly when arriving.
We had invited Marcelle Abou Haidar, project manager for the City of Stockholm, a long-time client of Ports Group. Marcelle heads the launch of the City of Stockholm’s very own top-level domain, .STOCKHOLM (read more about this in our client case study). Marcelle talked about the thoughts and strategies behind the decision to apply for a top-level domain of their own, how the implementation is going and what they think about the future of the top-level domain. Marcelle’s presentation caused many interesting discussions about the future of marketing, how to affect the behaviour of employees – but also customers, as well as whether it is important or not for companies to apply for a top-level domain of their own during the next application period, expected in 2019.
After Marcelle, Ports Group’s Commercial Director Viktor Johansson took the stage. Viktor is a trademark attorney with over 10 years of experience from the domain name business. Viktor held a presentation about how companies should act in regards to the current increase in attempts to commit fraud on the internet. How it affects companies’ brands and value when fraud is committed against an organisation, and how to protect one’s company? Supported by data from the latest reports, Viktor guided the audience through the proactive measures that can be taken in order to avoid risk, and our guests got the opportunity to ask all of their questions regarding IT-security.
In true after work spirit, the evening ended with mingling, drinks and hour d’oeuvres, where our guests could meet the Ports Group representatives but also – most importantly – each other.
